What is IFSC Code?
IFSC means Indian Financial System Code. It is an 11-character code used to identify a specific bank branch for electronic fund transfers such as NEFT, RTGS and IMPS.
IFSC format
The first four characters identify the bank, the fifth character is normally 0, and the last six characters identify the branch.
How to find IFSC
You can find IFSC on cheque leaves, bank passbook, bank website, RBI lists and branch details pages. Always verify before transferring money.
